The flexible magnet strip is magnetic on one side and will also be easily repositioned on flat or quite curved steel surfaces. The 100′ roll is pre-scored each 3″ (396 total pieces) to snap off easily, with a tolerance of + or – .060″. The strip has a small groove to identify the non-magnetic side. The strip withstands temperatures from -15 to +160 degrees F.
Flexible magnets will also be easily cut and shaped for a range of applications. They’re produced by mixing powdered iron or ferrite with a rubber or plastic binder, and then extruding or rolling into the desired shape. Flexible magnets can have adhesive backing and be laminated with a printable vinyl coating. Flexible magnets are in most cases magnetized with a couple of poles on one surface to generate a stronger holding force. High-energy flexible magnets can occasionally be used in place of ceramic materials if tight tolerances aren’t required. The application temperature range is made up our minds by binder material properties.
